The METASTRA project integrates cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies into its interdisciplinary framework. By leveraging AI alongside Physiology (VPH), the project aims to revolutionise patient care for individuals with spine metastasis.

This is why the approval of the Artificial Intelligence Act by the European Parliament is important for this project. Namely, this Act marks a significant milestone in ensuring safety, compliance with fundamental rights, and boosting innovation in Europe. This landmark regulation, reached through negotiations with member states in December 2023, underscores the commitment to protecting fundamental rights, democracy, the rule of law, and environmental sustainability in the face of high-risk AI applications.

This legislative framework aligns with the objectives of the METASTRA project, as it fosters a conducive environment for the development and implementation of AI-driven solutions in healthcare.
